Up, up & up.

Hi there..
I watched Up in the cinema the other day with my bro and friends.
Didn't feel like watching it at first but it turned out better than I expected.
Now a fav movie of mine. Must watch! :D
Anyways, I wanted to share some inspirational photos I saw.
The photographer's name is Erik Madigan Heck.
Just at 24, he's already worked for most of the famous designers. 0.o
Amazing.. His works look very haunting but memorable, like pieces from the past.
There is sure no stopping this guy from rising. These are my faves,
for Lanvin.
for Ann Demeulemeester.
for Christian Lacroix.
for Sandrine Phillipe.
for Rick Owens.

Inside the Chanel Couture house.

I've always wondered how a couture house works when they make a Haute Couture Collection for a show.
Well it's about time! Chanel has shown an inspiring behind-the-scenes video for everyone to see.
How I adore these women who make it possible! These are some of my favourite finds below. Take your pick :D
The outfit in the video :D

She, Him.

Hello to you..
It was a busy day for me today, I painted nonstop.
Finally got to finish painting all my unfinished works and some new ones,
how it feels so good to be out of procrastination.
I wish I could feel like this everyday. I made a look, one is for the she and the other for him.
'She' is wearing a ruched floral print dress and 'Him' a blue-grey striped top with a scarf.
Anyway, I guess its time for me to rest. Well goodnight everyone! :D

Hi there, how was your day?
I'm quite happy and inspired because... A few days ago my art got posted in TheFashionDuo's blog.
And, I also got interviewed about my art in Babalisme! Yayy..
I just wanted to say thank you to them because I really appreciate it :D
Gotta check them out, both very interesting blogs to read and very nice people too.

Alice In Wonders, Vogue.

Speaking of the movie, I remembered flipping through the pages of my US Vogue 2003 where photographer, Annie Leibovitz and model,
Natalia Vodianova pulled an "Alice In Wonderland ” fashion editorial shot. It was amazing. Found some photos of it:

Alice In Wonderland, the movie.

Oh my, what a trailer. Excited?
I am for sure! I can't wait to watch this movie but it still comes out on March 2010. Such a long long time :( to go.
Anyway, the cast will consists of famous actors such as Johnny Depp and Anne Hathaway.
And again the Colleen Atwood will be the Costume Designer for this movie.
She is always great, not to mention she won 2 Oscars, another 16 wins & 24 nominations in Costume Design! Wow..
Mia Wasikowska as Alice Kingsley.
Her ruffled dress above is very pretty.
Johnny Depp as The Mad Hatter. His orange hair really stands out in those earthy tones.
Anne Hathaway as The White Queen.
Helena Bonham Carter as The Queen of Hearts.

A little Gaga..

Hi there!
Did lots of shopping and bargaining today with some friends.
Anyway, the other day I saw the music video of
Kid Cudi and Kanye West - (Make Her Say) Poke Her Face.
Very cute, and I am in fact inspired. So here's a little Lady Gaga.
The video is a must see :D
It's a mellower version of the original.

Weekend inspirational quotes 02.

Luxe should be treated as garbage, and garbage should be treated as luxe.

It is not money that makes you well-dressed, it is understanding.

Art produces ugly things which frequently become beautiful with time.
Fashion, on the other hand, produces beautiful things which always become ugly with time.

Zipper dresses.

Today was quite fun.
After my art classes for kids I went to the gym and mall with a friend.
Ate some FroYos and Burger King while reading a mag.
There's an ongoing trend on zipper dresses, very pretty.
Anyway, here's one for the moment.

These watercolour girls were made a few months back.
I have a thing for turbans, they're pretty chic.
And I've noticed that I've been seeing some of them for the past months
Very lovely..

Shes in fashion.

Just made this one last night.
I was inspired by prettylittlewordfashion's blog and decided to mix it up.
So I made it more luminous and much more vivid.
I got this idea in my head, "Why not wear fashion?" so tada.. girl literally in fashion.
The second one is from petals.
Hope you like :D

Thrifty me. Self doodle.

Few days ago I was thrift shopping with my friends in Pasar Baru.
It's actually my first time being thrifty with second hand goods. Rummaging through the stacks of clothes gave me dust allergies but I managed to find some unique pieces.
Anyway, we also shopped for sunnies. Found some cute ones for a good bargain.
All thanks to my friend's bargaining skills.
The left one was just for Rp20k and the right for Rp40k :D ($1 = approx. Rp10k)
The middle one was a souvenir from my bestfriend/Bff on her trip to Thailand though.

Weekend inspirational quotes 01.

Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.

Zest is the secret of all beauty. There is no beauty that is attractive without zest.

Only great minds can afford a simple style.

Coco Avante Chanel, the movie.

English trailer of Coco Avant Chanel, starring Audrey Tautou. I wanna watch.
Kiera Knightley or Demi Moore was supposedly to play the role but in the end.
I'm glad it was Audrey Tatou in the end. I really liked her role in "Amelie".
“[The producer] said she would only make a film about Chanel is Audrey was the lead,”
says an insider.
A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous. — Coco Chanel
Here's an illustration inspired by the trailer.
