The grad show.

photo is by Mr. Patrick Shaun
(NOONIO models on the catwalk)

Hello, hope everyone had a nice weekend.
Ok, I know this isn't about illustrations but I just had to post these :)
 It was our uni's fashion festival "Archipelago" held outdoors at Museum Gajah on 26th June;
a big show with 200+ models on the runway.
Everyone was so scared the event would be a fiasco because it started to rain. But the show had to go on and the rain stopped. *relief* Finally got to showcase the clothes on the runway. I had soo much fun watching the show,
finally all the sleepless nights paying off. Hehehe..

I got Best Fashion Design in Menswear award.
Didn't expect it because I always find my other friends are reaaally good in their designs/collection.
So I was thinking, "Really?" But it was such an honour :)
Another thing, is that my dear friends who collaborated with me also won;
Mutiara Sitompul as Best Pattern Making in Menswear and Bunga Bakri as Best Fashion Business Retail in Menswear.
And this is NOONIO, our brand.

NOONIO's personal walk in wardrobe inspired booth.
the boys just love checking themselves out in the mirror. XD They're soo tall too!
little details.
Justine (bff) and
Stephan Kotas, the handsome and talented photographer/model!
Models posing like mannequins. They're so photogenic. ^^
the runway.
So glad my family and friends came to watch and support.
And a big congratulations to everyone who graduated and my friends who won in the womenswear section :)

Hope you enjoyed the pictures.
Wishing you a great day!
Cheers!

The photoshoot. NOONIO.

NOONIO Spring Summer 2011.
"Washed Up"
 Photographer: Stephan Kotas
Model: Renato Cavalli Andrade
(A non-illustration post)
Hi hi! I seriously don't know where to start because alot of things have happened before and after the grad show.
First things first, I wanted to share a few shots from NOONIO's SS 2011 collection.
Actually the some of the outfits weren't completely finished during the shoot because we had so little time to finish.
Adding to it was our model being sick that day too, so we were all so worried how things would turn out.
But anyway, good thing Renato managed to still pose well despite his condition. He's so hardworking :)
Thanks to our talented photographer/model Stephan Kotas, the photoshoot turned out great! *happy happy*
We all had such a wonderful time together although the hot sun made us sunburnt (painful!)
I'm going to miss this moment. Had so much fun since it was a first to experience a fashion photoshoot too.
Hope you like.. Cheers!

Andrew Carnegie
If I set for myself a task, be it so trifling, I shall see it through. How else shall I have confidence in myself to do important things?

The three great essentials to achieve anything worth while are, first, hard work; second, stick-to-itiveness; third, common sense.

Quotes 30 - Ralph Lauren.

Knowledge is not a passion from without the mind, but an active exertion of the inward strength,
vigor and power of the mind, displaying itself from within.
I don't design clothes, I design dreams.
They know they're going to look beautiful, and I don't think women should look like costumes.
They shouldn't look like fashion victims.
People ask how does a Jewish kid from the Bronx do preppy clothes?
Does it have to do with class and money? It has to do with dreams.
A leader has the vision and conviction that a dream can be achieved.
He inspires the power and energy to get it done.

Alone together.

An animated short film inspired by the song "Alone Together",
composed by Arthur Schwarzs and performed by Chet Baker.

I'm in love with this illustration video right now.
Such a chilly atmosphere of the 50s and enjoyable to watch *heart*
Love the glamour and ambience.
Watch it if you like..

It's all about good taste.

Natural.

The 4 doodle girls.

..the first girl is all about the clothing and sparkly glamour
..the second is all about quirky accessories, she is chic and jewellry is her bestfriend,
..the third loves to experiment with make up, a little inspiration on Amy Whinehouse on her look,
..the fourth loves to stand out with her bags and shoes,
her fav. quote "if you wear good shoes, they'll take you to good places"
Hellow mellow~
I was cleaning up and found these somewhere lying between my papers.
It was for the website Young Designers Online. Pretty fun to do.
They asked me to do a doodle last time for each category in their site :)
Maybe if you reside in Australia, this site may be good to shop at.
Now the illustration is changed to Steph Chard because each month they change illustrators.
Very cool!
Have a nice day!

Just smile.

just a little smiley doodle
I think they come in handy on rainy days too.

Quotes 28 - Bill Blass.

When in doubt wear red.
Red is the ultimate cure for sadness.
Style is primarily a matter of instinct.
Something about glamour interested me.
All my schoolbooks had drawings of women on terraces with a cocktail and a cigarette.
Sometimes the eye gets so accustomed that if you don't have a change, you're bored.
It's the same with fashion, you know. And that, I suppose, is what style is about.

Coffee Shop #05.

oh how i wish to design a henley and let a guy wear it..
There was a guy dressed in black with a headscarf.
He had a unique long and voluminous curly hair that caught my eye.
It's rare to have that hairstyle here and look cool but this guy pulled it off well.
Hehe I'm so random but I was just bored waiting for my friends.
Good day!

NOONIO doodles, for SS 2011.

Hello Yellow!
Finally done with the collection :)
The graduation show went great and I've officially graduated as a menswear designer. *dances*
I don't know where to start posting so I posted these first,
doodles from my latest collection designs for SS '11.
There were soo much doodles to choose from so I only posted a few.
Oh oh, experimented a bit with the illustrations too;
a little collage here and there, just tried it out but it was definitely fun :B
These ones we're actually produced in real fabrics for the school's fashion show.
Ahhh I've so much to share, hope I get to post more soon.
Hope you enjoyed..
Cheers! :D

Coffee Shop #04.

Taken a few weeks ago.
I was at the coffee shop working on my last collection illustrations
instead of doodling people around.
I think I've become addicted to vanilla latte and blueberry muffins.
Posting this makes me crave for some, they're such great companions :D
Yumm...
